Dear Mr. David Keene I hope this message finds you well
We don’t know each other, I am just an average person with some queries I would like to ask
I am pretty sure this is not the first time you read a letter of protest
My deepest wish is to become aware there is no need for more of them because
Instead of disputing about school shootings the day after a foolish act
I would like to discuss before in order to prevent
How does it feel to be on top of the almighty N.R.A.?
How does it feel to guard The 2nd amendment of the United States?
Do you ever think of the families whose children were shot to death?
I know you did not pull that trigger but still you are the responsible for that
What’s making you so numb?
Is your business worth so many lives?
How can you ignore your guilty conscience
When you lay you down to sleep at night?
Despite your greedy hands I bet
You would never trade your sons for a compensation
And there’s one thing I can vouch for
Neither would have the kin of the murdered kids
After more than 2 centuries the Bill of Rights might be obsolete
What's the connection between weapons and freedom?
You call it “safety” and I call it “fear”
Apparently the 2nd amendment grants your compatriots their own defense
But what you define a right, a national pride, is nothing more than a common threat

Mesmerized by disinformation
Gossip has the upper hand over news
compulsively addicted to the trash TV
Hypnotized and manipulated
The TV screen reflects our emptiness
Killings and kidnappings are just the pretext for a
Sort of reality imposed by a morbid curiosity
Confusing information with entertainment because
Tragedy turned into a show
Another lie to increase the audience
Another drama to draw the attention
And still we keep on gawking
Where the spotlights are on
Day after day we acquire more information
But day after day our knowledge drops
Our level of rationality collapses
Swimming faster than the stream to reach the waterfall
A flood of distractions disabilities our minds
Our capacity for reasoning in now paralyzed
Leaving us indifferent to the facts
That will lead us to ruin
A new episode based on the same old plot
One more criminal to be proclaimed mainstream
24/7 stakeouts to narrate his routine
No way to set it right until we decide to quit
This absurd tendency to spectacularize disgraces
Neglecting victims' feelings so they become victims twice
A hypocrite aestheticization of suffering
They are shaping it like Hollywood, but this is our reality

A Thank You Note
01:47
|
|||
It might not sound so easy to imagine there's a thank you note
Behind my screams but I don't want the wind to blow my words away
Long time no see days became weeks, weeks became months, months became years
So far away but still so close just like back in the days it seems like time stood still
So many things I'd like to say but I'm afraid they might sound bromidic
That's why I decided to write this song instead
Because that's the clearest way I know to prove you that through brightest and darkest days
When you can't see me right in front of your eyes you're not alone I'm walking by your side
True friends will stay the same through distance and time we got each other's back
True friends will stay the same we've come this far without losing track
When life turns its back on I got your shoulder to lean on and find the strength to overcome
A constant comfort that invigorates my will to pull myself together and take on my inner fear
Whenever it’s my turn to hold your head up high and lead the path when you can't see the light
If for any reason we’re not next to each other
Give this song a listen and I’ll be singing it louder
